Mazda global autoshow
Zoom-Zoom
Mazda asked Imagination to create a design for their international autoshow stands that would bring the essence of motion to life. The solution infuses every element of the stand with movement and dynamism.
As part of Imagination’s multi-disciplinary team, I was responsible for directing digital creative and technical teams, both freelance and permanent.
Idents
At the heart of the concept is a dramatic large-scale wall with high definition LED panels for displaying motion graphics and video. I designed the digital content so that it would seamlessly integrate with the diamond shaped structure of the wall. Sometimes the images interact with the structure: the skateboarder takes off from a graphic ramp, for example.

Modular system
The approach which we developed for the stand ensured absolute consistency – from architectural design to graphic displays and interactive media. It was so successful that Imagination was asked to undertake future visual identity work for Mazda.

Post launch
After the launch of the autoshow stand in Tokyo, I maintained responsibility for all digital and motion graphics for Mazda’s global exhibition programme for a further 2 years, including media events and product reveals. The example shown is a promotional video for the launch of the Mazda 2.
